The other day I was telling a little about the potentials of bamboo timber can have in our home. Today we will know more about other types of wood: the eucalyptus. This is a timber with the most potential and is used in both interior and exterior carpentry.

In recent times it has tried to improve its processing and use in new applications. The durability of eucalyptus is 5 to 15 years in contact with the ground and 15 to 40 years without contact with the ground. This has been exploited to the use of wood doors eucalyptus, shapes for windows, furniture for kitchen, hardwood plywood and tongue and groove.

The sawing and drying techniques are really important so that the wood retains its quality. The sawing minimizes the negative effects of growth stresses and drying prevents moisture that causes distortion. The best results are obtained when it is heated with steam.

The most abundant species in the Iberian Peninsula is the white eucalyptus. This is notable for its high density, hardness, ease of bending and impact WATERPROOF. Today it has diversified the number of products made from this material. This is a wood clear and has some facility to receive decorative finishes.
